Depuis le 22 avril, l’Atelier International du Grand Paris accueille dans ses locaux, un workshop de l’Ecole d’Architecture de l’Université de Technologie de Sydney (UTS), intitulé « Forms of Displacement ». Les étudiants y sont amenés à réfléchir sur la définition et la conception d’un « environnement hybride », intégrant infrastructure, réseaux de transport, architecture et espaces collectifs dans le contexte du projet du Grand Paris. Le site d’étude est la future gare du GPE de Rueil Suresnes Mont-Valérien.
Un agenda complexe, associant espaces hétérogènes, lieux de mobilité et programmes multiples sera développé et testé comme réponse à la fois théorique et opérationnelle aux effets (et effets secondaires) du développement des transports publics urbains.
Soucieux d’éviter tout résultat préconçu, cette investigation vise à exploiter opportunités, complexité et imprévisibilité de manière à repenser les rôles de ces territoires de la mobilité.
Ce workshop réalisé dans le cadre du Master créé et dirigé par Frank Minnaërt en 2010.

The Atelier International du Grand Paris is hosting a workshop from School of Architecture, Sydney

The Master studio will speculate on the definition and production of environments - hybridising infrastructure, transportation networks, architecture, landscape and collective spaces in the context of the current urban planning consultation for the future of Paris as well as a potential case study for Sydney’s metropolitan strategy. A broad agenda, combining heterogeneous conditions of space, mobility and program in a system of situated and performative relationships, will be used as theoretical and operational responses to potential effects and side effects of urban transport development. Without relying on a predictable outcome, intellectual and formal investigation will exploit opportunism, mistakes, complexity and unpredictability to generate and re-establish the role of these territories of displacement.
A two week intensive workshop in Paris (at Palais de Tokyo) is a core component of the studio.
